A memorial gathering for Shayla Machel Melton, of Brookhaven, will be Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven. There will be a procession to Bowman Cemetery for a graveside service following the memorial gathering.

Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Ms. Melton, 35, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at her residence. She was born Oct. 24, 1981. She was a homemaker and enjoyed clothing, jewelry, shopping, trinket collecting and drawing art.

Preceding her in death were her grandmothers, Carrie Mae Bessonette and Lydia Mae-Anding Case.

Survivors are her father, Danny Melton; mother, Tammy Jackson; sons, Austyn Melton and Kaughner Melton; daughters, Kayleigh Schmitt, Kenna Melton and Kyla Melton.
