Funeral services for Joseph Clyde “Pete” Coone Jr., of McCall Creek, will be held privately at a later date.

Mr. Coones, 78, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born June 5, 1939, in Bogue Chitto to Joseph Clyde Coone Sr. and Estelle Rippy Coone. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his grandsons play ball.    

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Samuel Coone.

Survivors are his sons, Kerry Wayne Coone; daughter, Sharlae Nevels and husband Ralph; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
