Funeral services for Jamie Gindollia Thornhill Nations are Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb with burial at Enon Cemetery. Rev. Mike Alexander will officiate the services.

Following the funeral service will be a gathering for all of the family and friends at the Dinan Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 8 Dinan Church Road. If you would like to bring or give a donation of food or drink, contact Felisha Thornhill Foil at 601-303-0634.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nations, 83, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at the Lawrence County Hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1934, to Jimmy James W. Thornhill and Verma Jones Thornhill in the Old Bethel Church in the community of Jayess, in the rural area of Walthall County. She was the youngest of five siblings.

She married James E. Nations Oct. 17, 1953, and was a loving mother of two sons. In her early years she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of the Pine Chapter No. 371, in Enon. She was a lady with energy to spare, who loved to cook, quilt, crochet, listen to music and dance. She was always cheerful and full of life, with laughter and smiles. She also enjoyed growing flowers and being with family at the Thornhill reunions and Christmas.

She was loved by so many and in return she loved her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, all her nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends through her lifetime.

Even though her memory was taking by Alzheimer’s over the past few years, she will forever be with us in our memories, with all the good times that were shared. 

“Time which is taken for granted and holds no boundaries, but those memories are forevermore impressed into our souls.” 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James E. Nations; brothers, Vernon and Dan Thornhill; sisters, Emma Thornhill, Rennie Thornhill and Diane (John) Jones, of San Antonio, Texas; mother- and father-in-law, Ervin and Netta Nations; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Frank, Harold, Rabbit, Betty and Jerry Short, Bennie, Lucy and Pat Nations.

Survivors are her sons, Jay James E. Nations, Kenneth L. Nations, and wife, Mary B. “Kitty” Nations; grandchildren, Toby and Jessica Nations, Tasha and Jr. Bales, Joshua Nations, Cody and Beth Nations; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Barbara “Bobbie” R. Thornhill; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dewitt Nations, Donald and Sandra Nations and Grace Nations; and numerous nieces and nephews of the Nations, Thornhill and Jones families.

The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Brantley Pace and the all of the staff of the Lawrence County Nursing Facility, who took great care of our mother during her years that she was a patient there. We would also like to thank the Lawrence County Hospital Staff for their caregiving in her last days.
