William Franklin Crawford

A private graveside service for William Franklin Crawford, of McComb, formerly of Brookhaven, is today, May 8, 2018, at Rose Hill Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Crawford, 88, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, after a brief illness. He was born July 31, 1929, to Will Furr Crawford and Lena Moreton Mixon Crawford, in Brookhaven. He graduated from Copiah-Lincoln High School, and received both his bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was chairman of the board of State Bank and Trust Company for many years, served for 39 years on the board of the Lincoln-Lawrence-Franklin Regional Library, was board member and past president of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association and was a member and supporter of local organizations. He was known for his love of Brookhaven and his knowledge of its history. Mr. Crawford was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Anne Jordan Crawford.

Survivors are his sister, Roberta Moreton Crawford of McComb; his son, Robert Michael Crawford of Brookhaven; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express its great thanks to the staff of Camellia Estates of McComb, and to Hospice Compassus for their loving care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Faith Presbyterian Church, the Lincoln County Public Library, the Mississippi School of the Arts of a charity of the giver’s choice.
