VICKSBURG — A Vicksburg woman faces a charge of burglary after the owner of a home in the 1500 block of Jackson Street came home from a trip to find her asleep in his bed and wearing items belonging to him.

Vicksburg police Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said Venshada Neisha Clayton, 2501 Ken Karl Ave., is accused in the break-in. She was being held in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility without bail pending an initial appearance in Municipal Court Wednesday.

According to police reports, officers were called about 2:51 p.m. Monday about a woman asleep in a bed at a home on Jackson Street.

The homeowner told police he had gone out of town for a few days and when he returned he found Clayton inside his home and she had apparently fallen asleep. He said Clayton gained entry to his home through a window in the rear of the house. It was unclear how long Clayton had been at the home.
