Graveside services for May Ruth Scott, of Brookhaven, are today, Sept. 1, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. at Riverwood Family Cemetery. Bro. Lance Moak will officiate the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 1:30 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Scott, 95, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born May 3, 1923, in Lepanto, Arkansas, to Roy Mac and Beatrice Elizabeth Swan Young. She was of the Baptist faith, she was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, cooking and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great- great-grandmother and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Marley Wayne Scott; grandson, Scott Brister; sisters, Naomi Young, Joann Dickerson and Betty Owens; and brothers, Shelby Young and Leonard Young.

Survivors are her daughter, Elaine Scott Brister, of Brookhaven; grandson, Jeff

Brister and wife, Beth, of Brookhaven; great-grandchildren, Samuel Brister and wife, Felicity, and Brandie Cain and husband, David; great-great-grandchildren,

Gabriel Dehart, Nicholi Cain, Natalie Cain, Keagan Glenn Brister, Ainsley Brister and Emmitt Scott Brister; sister, Abby Jean Thompson, of Memphis, Tennessee; brothers,

Archie Calvin Young and wife, Carol, of Madison, Alabama, Michael Bruce Young, of Georgetown; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
