A memorial service for Johnnie Waldon Green, of Youngsville, Louisiana, will be Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Youngsville, Louisiana. Friends and family are invited to attend this service with burial at a later date at the Pisgah Cemetery in Belmont, Louisiana. Carney Funeral Home in Lafayette, Louisiana, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Green, 87, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018. She was born Nov. 21, 1930, to Leroy and Vera Montgomery Waldon in Wesson. She was one of six children. She resided in Lafayette and was a former resident of Houma, Louisiana. She was married to Huey Cecil Green and they were blessed with four children. The matriarch of the family, she loved her family unconditionally and was happiest when she was spending time making memories with them all. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and was always active in her faith and church, no matter where she lived. Her travels brought her around the world, living in Aberdeen, Scotland; Bangkok, Thailand; Stavanger, Norway and Cairo, Egypt, though she never forgot her roots in rural Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Huey Cecil Green; son, Jimmy Roy Green; parents, Leroy and Vera Waldon; sister, Margie Chandler; brother, Leroy Waldon Jr; and great-grandchildren, Cameron McCartney and Sean McCartney.

Survivors are her daughters, Cheryl Green McCartney, of Austin, Texas, Lori Green Arcement (Michael), of Thibodaux, Louisiana; son, Buddy Green (Sandy), of Lafayette, Louisiana; sister, Nell Coleman; brothers, Charles Waldon (Nita) and Paul Waldon (Kathy); six grandchildren, Donovan McCartney (Lori), Jeffrey Green, Ashley Green McNair (Aaron), Amanda Green Hanks (Jonathan), Andrea Allemand Hebert (Bucky) and David Allemand (Gabrielle); seven great-grandchildren, Caleigh McNair, Chloe McNair, Avery McNair, Cecilia Hebert and Marie Hebert, Owen Hanks and Logan Hanks; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
