Funeral services for Christopher Dewayne Welch, of Bogue Chitto, are Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with burial at Welch Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be today, Oct. 9, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Mr. Welch, 54, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at his residence. He was born Sept. 26, 1964, to Millard Wayne Welch and Marilyn Frances Welch O’Gwynn. He was the owner of Welch Pest Control and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #260 of Bogue Chitto and a founding member of the Ruth Volunteer Fire Department.

Preceding him in death were his father; stepfather, Johnnie O’Gwynn; father-in-law and mother-in-law, JC and Carline Greer; paternal grandparents, GC and Tommie Ruth Welch; and maternal grandparents, Roy and Myrtle Morgan.

Survivors are his wife of 29 ½ years, Carolyn Greer Welch; mother, Marilyn Welch O’Gwynn; son, Colton Welch and wife, Katelyn; daughter, Courtney Bennett and husband, Jarred; brothers, Craig Welch and wife, Amy, Kyle Hux and wife, Terri; one grandchild, Jessi Claire Bennett; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rev. Jess and Stephanie Greer and Pam and Craig Dankenbring; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
