BHS splits with Laurel, Loyd Star swept

Brookhaven High

The Lady Panthers picked up their first win of the season with a 3-2 victory at Laurel. In the boys’ game, the Golden Tornados beat the Panthers 3-1.

The Panthers got a Trace Brady goal that came on a Brock Wells assist. The Lady Panthers got two goals from Madi Miller and one goal from Kat Wallace.

BHS travels to North Pike on Friday.

Loyd Star

The Hornets and Lady Hornets were swept at North Pike on Tuesday night. The Jaguars took a 2-0 win in the girls’ game and a 3-0 victory in the boys’ contest.

Loyd Star hosts McComb on Friday, with the girls’ game beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Hansel King Sports Complex.

Wesson

The Lady Cobras picked up their fifth win of the season with a 4-2 victory at Morton. Morton squeezed past the Cobras in the boys’ game for a 4-3 win.

Wesson plays at Bogue Chitto tonight.

Brookhaven Academy

The Cougars moved to 1-1 on the season with a 1-0 loss at Parklane on Monday night. BA hosts East Rankin Academy tonight at 5 p.m.

Lawrence County

The Lawrence County boys rolled Columbia 7-1 Tuesday night on the road. The girls also took home a 6-1 win. The Cougars currently sit at 4-2, and the Lady Cougars are 4-1-1 as they travel to Franklin County tonight for a doubleheader.
