Barbara McCracken, 84, died Sept. 23, 2020, in Austin, Texas. She was born May 3, 1936, in Lincoln County to Effie McLaughlin and Decatur Burt. She attended Arlington School during the early grades and graduated at Brookhaven High School in 1954.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Inez Thornhill, Agnes Williams, and Opal Burt; and brothers, Julius and Hoover Burt.

She is survived by two daughters, Sheila and Sonja McCracken; sisters, Hilda Penner and Sandra Ratcliff; and brother, Roffie Burt.
