BC Lady Cats Open New Gym With a victory

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats christened their new basketball gym with a 50-30 victory over the McLauren Lady Tigers Thursday night in basketball action.

“”It was a special night for us at Bogue Chitto,” said BC coach Christi Terrell. “We got to play in the new gym for the first time and had a great crowd of Bogue Chitto supporters.”

Bogue Chitto will have the rest of the week off to enjoy Thanksgiving break, before returning to action Tuesday, Dec. 3, to host the West Lincoln Bears and Lady Bears for four games. Junior high action tips off at 4 and 5 p.m., followed by the varsity games.

Bogue Chitto 50, McLauren 30 

The Lady Cats came out strong and seized controlled of the contest in their new gym in the first quarter at 12-5 and secured a 28-10 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Lady Tigers battled back but could not overcome BC’s huge lead to spoil BC’s celebration.

Junior Zariah Matthews was the offensive leader for the Lady Cats with 10 points and three steals. Mattie Avants contributed nine points. Earlnesheia Dillion paced the Lady Cats on the boards with six rebounds

Overall, it was a great win and I was pleased to give everyone some playing time,” stated Terrell.

Mary Maxwell was the top scorer for the Lady Tigers with 10 points.
