Funeral services for Janice L. Burgess of Monticello are 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Larry T. Daniels Sr. will be officiating Marshall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Wednesday, April 30, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and will continue Thursday at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Janice, 73, died April 25, 2014, at her residence. She was born on Feb. 18, 1941, in Monticello to Willie Bell Brown.

She was an active member for Home Mission, a Sunday School teacher and Church Mother. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her mother; grandparents, Mary and Charlie B. Haywood; two brothers, John Henry Reagor and Eugene Russell; two sisters, Laurissa Newsome and Hazel Boykin.

Survivors are her daughter, Jackie (Willie) Garner; three grandchildren, Demetrice Peyton, Jessica Grandberry and Jermaine Payton; god-daughter, Kimberly (James) Johnson; great-grandchildren, DyNiqua Grandberry and DeDarius Grandberry; great great-grandchild, Malayia McCray; three brothers, Jett L. Reagor, Lockett Reagor and Maurice Reagor; two nephews, Jamie Reagor and Tyrone Reagor; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
