Pisgah pops Enterprise

The 2000 season didn’t end the way Enterprise planned it as theYellow Jackets lost to the visiting Pisgah Dragons 36-8 Fridaynight on Cole Field. The Yellow Jackets still enjoyed a winningseason, going 6-4.

It was the first winning season for Enterprise since 1988 whenthey finished 6-3. The junior high finished 5-1 this season, givingEnterprise fans an optimistic preview of the future.

Tailback Shermaine Vaughn scored Enterprise’s only touchdownagainst Pisgah. He also ran the 2-point conversion. Vaughn sprainedhis ankle later in the game but managed to surpass the 1,000-yardrushing plateau.

“Pisgah had a lot of speed in the backfield,” said Enterprisecoach Ricky Deere. “Archie is extremely quick.”

Archie scored four touchdowns, including a 55-yard interceptionreturn.

The Dragons raised their record to 6-4.

On defense, junior safety Reynald Skipperintercepted a pass for the Jackets. It was Skipper’s ninthinterception of the season.

Cornerback Whit McGraw also intercepted a pass forEnterprise.
