Services for L. R. Fortenberry of Silver Creek are 3 p.m.,Monday, April 30, at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home in Prentiss withburial in New Hope Cemetery in Simpson County.

Mr. Fortenberry, 71, died April 28, 2001, at Central MississippiMedical Center. He was born in Silver Creek to John Rex Fortenberryand Jewel Elizabeth Polk Fortenberry.

He was a retired Jackson policeman with 20 years service. He wasa member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Mavis Sebren Fortenberry of SilverCreek; his daughters, Nancy Gatwood of Hattiesburg and Lisa Busbyof Gulf Breeze, Fla.; his son, Duane Fortenberry of Florence; hissisters, Emogene Wingo of Monticello, Alagene Wingo and BarbaraWatson, both of Silver Creek, and Peggy Gray of Metairie, La.; andfour grandchildren.
