Four more chances to win holiday bucks

A Brookhaven woman had something extra to be thankful for duringthe recent holiday as she became the fourth winner of $200 inHometown Bucks.

Shelley Summers was glad her luck changed this year in the DAILYLEADER’S Hometown Christmas promotion.

“I have registered every year, so it was my time, finally,” shesaid. “I’ve learned it’s best to keep trying.”

She entered the contest several times a week by filling out thespecial entry forms and placing them in the promotion boxes at avariety of locations since the promotion started four weeksago.

The participating merchants include:

* Bank of Brookhaven

* Brookwood Gifts & Antiques

* Lofton’s Sporting Goods

* Rushing Boots and Shoe Shop

* Shipp’s Flowers

* State Bank

* T.H. Perkins Furniture Company

* Walls Lumber

Her change of luck could hardly have come at a better time forSummers.

“It definitely helps when you’ve got several people to buy for,”she said, mentioning how she planned to buy Christmas gifts forfamily members.

Summers already has a few gift ideas at the participatingmerchants, and hopes she will be able to buy several gifts andfinish her Christmas shopping.

“If there’s some left, I’ll get myself some things, too,”Summers remarked.

There will be three more weekly drawings for $200 in HometownBucks, with a grand prize drawing for $600 on Dec. 14.

Each Friday, one name will be drawn from the participatingmerchants’ promotion box, then the winner will be drawn from thosenames, with $2,000 to be given away.

Shoppers may register for the drawings at any of theparticipating businesses. Shoppers may enter as many times as theywould like.

Employees of the DAILY LEADER and their families are noteligible to win. Employees of participating merchants may notregister at their respective business, but they may register at anyof the other participating business.
