Services for Leander “Ham” Smith of Lansing, Mich., and formerlyof Wesson, are 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at Old St. John M. B.Church with burial in St. John Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 5-7 p.m. with family hour from 7-8p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mr. Smith, 65, died Oct. 20, 2002, in Lansing. He was born inWesson on Jan. 30, 1937, to James K. Smith and Genevieve Smith.

He was retired from Fisher Body Division of General Motors with36 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Zion M. B. Church inLansing.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his grandparents, theRev. and Mrs. Tommie DeMyers, who raised him; and his sister,Virginia.

Survivors are his companion, Marsha Ann Jones of Lansing; hissons, Steve L. Smith and Derrick Dismuke, both of Lansing; hisdaughter, Joyce Sorrells of Lansing; his brothers, Ira ThomasMotley of Wesson, George Robert Robertson of Bogue Chitto, andEddie Lewis Robertson of Lansing; and 10 grandchildren.
