Services for Lester Lee Bourne of Crystal Springs are 2 p.m.,Monday, July 28, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 4-7 p.m., and Monday from 8 a.m. – 2p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Bourne, 60, died July 24, 2003, at his residence. He wasborn in Jackson on July 15, 1943, to Fred Bourne and Zelda BrownBourne.

He was a sales representative for Bancroft Paper and Chemicalsin Jackson, where he worked for 25 years. He was a former personneldirector for the State Parks Commission, and was a member of FirstBaptist Church in Crystal Springs. He was a graduate of ProvineHigh School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University ofSouthern Mississippi, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Alpafraternity and honorary organizations. He served on many boards andwas a director and a past president of the board of directors forthe Jackson Metropolitan Boys and Girls Club. He was an avidoutdoorsman.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife of 39 years, Janet Owens Bourne ofCrystal Springs; his sons, Bradford Riley Bourne of Tampa, Fla.,and Bryce Bailey Bourne of Jackson; his brothers, Eldred Bourne ofHuntsville, Ala., Darden Bourne of Gadsden, Ala., Ralph Bourne ofNew Hope, Ala., and Dale Bourne of Grass Valley, Calif.; and hisgrandson, Joshua Lee Bourne of Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Pat Moore, Herman Morris, Bob Bailey, DonRenegar, James Watts, Ronnie Hughes, Jerry Black and Davey Tucker.Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Loper, Vanis Ely, BurnisGardner, Jerry Segal and Jon David Smith.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, HospiceMinistries or Jackson Metropolitan Boys and Girls Club.
