Loyd Harold Lofton

Services for Loyd Harold Lofton of Smithdale were 10 a.m.Saturday, Nov. 6 at Ramah Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lofton, 81, died Nov. 4, 2004, at Southwest Regional MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 18, 1922, to LukeLofton and Beulah Lofton Lofton.

He was retired from International Paper Company in Natchez. Hewas a member of the 82nd Airborne and a veteran of World War II. Hewas a member of Ramah Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Anne C.Jansen Lofton; his sister, Mable Stancil; his brothers, Edward,Troy, Sherrill and Arthur Lofton; and a granddaughter, AleciaLofton.

Survivors are his daughters, Cheryl Mitchell of Smithdale, andKaren Wallace of Bogue Chitto; his sons, Leslie Lofton of Brandon,and Bobby Lofton of Smithdale; his sisters, Joyce L. Smith ofBrookhaven, Dot L. Smith of Bogue Chitto, and Reba Peavy of CrystalSprings; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
