Bobcats rally to win

BOGUE CHITTO — Bogue Chitto scored the game-winning run in thebottom of the eighth inning to take a 6-5 division win over WestLincoln Tuesday night in baseball action.

The win improved the Bobcats record to 2-5 in the division and3-8 on the season. The Bears fell to 7-9 overall and even 3-3 inthe division.

At the end of seven innings, the teams were deadlocked at5-all.

“We hit the ball well and Cory (Washington) and Joseph (Hart)pitched a good game.” said Bogue Chitto coach Adam Moak. “I’m proudof my guys.”

Washington was the winner on the mound with seven strikeouts andsix walks. Hart worked in relief with two strikeouts;. MasonDouglas absorbed the loss with six strikeouts and three walks.

“We did not perform well tonight,” said West Lincoln boys coachKeith Cline. “We had an injury on the field and we had to play fallfive of our 8th graders. Bogue Chitto made the plays that killedus.”

Directing Bogue Chitto with a double and single apiece were SethAvants, Blake Wallace, David Moak and Hart. Doubling was StevenSnow. Matthew Magee and Daniel Howard singled.

West Lincoln was powered by Josh Rushing’s home run and pair ofsingles. Brett Rushing, James Magee and Zach Williams hitsafely.

Bogue Chitto pounded West Lincoln 14-4.
