Judging by recent activity in Brookhaven and Lincoln County, anyobserver has to conclude that business is taking a close look atthe community and like what they see.

Simply put, business is booming.

The area has, in the past few months, welcomed many newventures, as evidenced by the gaggle of recent ribbon-cuttings. Inaddition, many tried-and-true businesses have relocated, expandedor both.

What’s more, there are plenty of opportunities on the horizonfor our community – some in the planning stages, others under way- that prove Brookhaven and Lincoln County economically viable fora variety of businesses.

Several local enterprises, including car dealerships, a bank anda grocery store, have recently changed hands, offering a starkcontrast to many communities in which businesses that pull out arereplaced by boarded-up storefronts left to decay.

Here, despite changes of ownership, it’s business as usual.

City and county officials as well as the Brookhaven-LincolnCounty Chamber of Commerce work hard to lure retail and industrialendeavors, and their work is rewarded.

Residents, as well, play a part. We have a well-earnedreputation for supporting local businesses and spending our dollarshere at home, where they help fuel further growth.

Take a look around. What you’ll notice is that our community hasbeen noticed – and that can only mean bigger and better things tocome.

Business is booming, and it’s a bright future, indeed.
