Services for Mary Nell Howell, of Monticello, are 2 p.m. today,Aug. 17 at Monticello Methodist Protestant Church in Monticellowith burial in Bethshan Cemetery in Monticello. Wilson Funeral Homeis in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Howell, 79, died Aug. 15, 2005, at the Lawrence CountyHospital in Monticello. She was born on March 18, 1926, to WalterPeavey and Luna Bell Lambert Peavey.

She was a retired sales clerk for Bill’s Dollar Store. She was amember of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member ofMonticello Methodist Protestant Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters; onebrother; and two grandchildren.

Survivors are her husband, Wilmer Howell, of Monticello; herdaughters, Annelle Young, of Monticello, and Kay Mullins, ofBooneville; her sons, Bill Howell and Dale Howell, both ofMonticello, Lynn Howell, of Nola, David Howell and Randy Howell,both of Monticello, and Russ Howell, of Nola; her sister, WaulineLangford, of Slidell, La.; her brothers, Willie Earl Peavey, of NewOrleans, and Conley Peavey, of Monticello; 18 grandchildren; 15great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
