After two weeks of long road trips to the Mississippi GulfCoast, the Fighting Enterprise Yellow Jackets are back home Fridayat Harry Cole Field to celebrate homecoming against Region 4-1Arival Dexter. The game begins at 7 p.m.

In other Lincoln County games, Natchez Cathedral is at BogueChitto, Amite County invades Loyd Star and West Lincoln travels toMercy Cross.

Enterprise, coached by Roe Burns, fell toGulfport St. John 41-22 in a big Region 7-1A loss last Friday.Dexter (3-5, 2-5) was annihilated by Mercy Cross 44-14 lastweek.

Enterprise (4-4, 4-3) and Stringer (4-4, 4-3) are tied for No. 4spot in the region. A win Friday over Dexter and next Friday overBogue Chitto would secure the Jackets a spot in the playoffs.

“Dexter runs a 6-2 and 50 on defense,” said Burns. “They playthree deep on pass coverage. They have a lot of speed. Offensively,they have gone away from the shotgun to a normal type of offense.Their quarterback is under the center.”

In the loss to St. John, tailback Terrell May directed theJackets with 31 carries for 114 yards and scored 2 touchdowns.Rushing 13 times for 49 yards was Drew Waldrop.

The Enterprise defense got 8 tackles from Chris Moak.

“We should be as healthy as we have been this week,” addedBurns. “We control our own destiny. We played with everybody in thefirst half, then depth catches up with us.”

Bogue Chitto, coached by Gareth Sartin, isstill battling for a berth in the state playoffs if the Bobcats wintheir remaining 2 games. The next roadblock for the Bobcats is thevisiting Green Wave of Natchez Cathedral who invade Troy SmithField.

Last Friday, Bogue Chitto (3-5, 3-4) fell to unbeaten and No.1-ranked Mt. Olive (8-0, 6-0) 43-6. Cathedral (3-5, 2-5) was a26-21 victor over Salem in region matchups.

In the loss to Mt. Olive, Donyea Dillon led Bogue Chitto with 14rushes for 55 yards and scored a touchdown.

The Bobcat defense got 7 tackles and 2 sacks from CoryWashington.

Loyd Star, coached by Josh Thibodeaux, wouldlike to end its final game of the season on a winning note but willhave their hands full when they entertain Region 6-2A foe AmiteCounty at William E. “Sambo” Smith Field.

Loyd Star (1-6, 0-4) fell to the undefeated Hinds AHS Bulldogs52-14 while Amite County (2-5, 1-3) etched out a 46-37 win over St.Andrew’s in last Friday’s region action.

In the loss to Hinds AHS, Michael Britt led the Hornets with 8rushes for 19 yards. Quarterbacks Tyler Williford and Jarred Rogerscombined to complete 7 of 7 passes for 157 yards.

West Lincoln, coached by Brooks Burns, is onthe road to Mercy Cross in D’Iberville to face the Crusaders (6-1,5-1). Burns’ Bears remain winless with an 0-8 overall record.

Last Friday, Stringer knocked off West Lincoln 37-0 while MercyCross hammered Dexter 44-14 in region action.

Lee Jones rushed the football 7 times for 27 yards for theBears. Patrick Smith paced the Bears on defense with 17 tackles.Making 13 stops was Jamie Rushing.
