Services for Patrice Bates Cook, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Nov. 12 at New Hope M.B. Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. with family hour from 6 to7 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Cook, 44, died Nov. 6, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospitalin Jackson. She was born on March 23, 1961, to Paul Bates Sr. andHelen Pierce.

She was a retired school teacher. She taught in the RavenswoodsSchool District in California and the McComb Public Schools. Shewas a 1978 graduate of Menlo Atherton High School and a graduate ofSan Francisco University where she earned a Bachelor of Sciencedegree in Elementary Education. She was a member of New Hope M.B.Church.

Survivors are her husband, Jimmie Cook, of Brookhaven; hermother Helen Pierce, of Brookhaven; her father, Paul Bates Sr. andhis wife, Frances, of San Francisco; her daughters, Brittany Baileyand Breanna Reid, both of Brookhaven; her brothers, Paul Bates Jr.and his wife, Marie, of Oakland, Calif., and Willie Bates, ofFayette; her stepchildren, Eric Burnett and Tiffany Gomez, both ofChampaign, Ill.; three grandchildren; and many uncles, aunts,nieces, nephews and other relatives.
