Services for Michael Anthony Beasley, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Saturday, Jan. 28 at Rosehill M.B. Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Mr. Beasley, 38, died Jan. 20, 2006, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on Sept. 3, 1967, to Albert Beasley and MaryFlorence Hughes Beasley.

He was a 1985 graduate of Brookhaven High School. He was amember of Rosehill M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his mother; his grandfather, SamHughes; and two sons, Trashawn Beasley and Michael Beasley Jr.

Survivors are his sons, Damontae Dixon, Kardaei Stewart, MichaelBeasley Jr., all of Brookhaven, Demetrius Winston and DanteWinston, both of Hattiesburg; his daughters, Mi’Kyuna Beasley,Amiah Stewart and MaKayla Stewart, all of Brookhaven; his brother,Dennis Beasley, of Brookhaven; his sister, Felicia Beasley, ofBrookhaven; his grandmother, Ruth Hughes, of Brookhaven; twonieces, one nephew, a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives andfriends.

Allie Mae Bryant

Services for Allie Mae Bryant, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Jan. 28 at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 7 p.m., with family presentfrom 6 to 7 p.m. at R.E. Tyler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bryant, 94, died Jan. 21, 2006, at her residence. She wasborn on June 30, 1911, to Charlie Short and Octavia Ferdinand.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Churchwhere she served as an usher and was a member of the MissionarySociety. She enjoyed gardening and ceramics.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, N.Z.Bryant; two brothers, Vercie and A.J. Kelly; two sisters, EmilyBanks and Necie Kelly; and two daughters, Henrietta “Dolly” Brownand Beatrice “Monk” Gills.

Survivors are her son, N.Z. Bryant Jr., of Jackson; herdaughters, Theola Robinson, Learline Bryant, both of Brookhaven,Christine Crossley, of San Francisco, Calif., and Earline Corey, ofPittsburgh, Calif.; her brothers, Sidney Kelly, of Pittsburgh,Calif., Jessie Kelly, of Ogden, Utah, and Willard Kelly, of Roy,Utah; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and twogreat-great-grandchildren.

Delmus Ray Buchanan

Graveside services for Delmus Ray Buchanan, of Monticello, are11 a.m. today, Jan. 26 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery inMonticello. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Buchanan, 68, died Jan. 24, 2006, at his residence. He wasborn on Oct. 21, 1937, to Leslie Buchanan and Id Mae MorrisBuchanan.

He was a retired backhoe and gravel service owner. He was amember of Bethel Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Delmus RayBuchanan, of Raceland, La., and Mike Buchanan, of Monticello; onegranddaughter, Crystal Buchanan, of Raceland; two brothers, ElzyBuchanan and Earl Buchanan, of Monticello; and one sister, ZulaMagee, of Brookhaven.

Survivors are his wife, Shelby Jean Buchanan; his sons, MarkBuchanan and Mack Buchanan, both of Monticello; his brothers, JewelBuchanan and Leslie Buchanan Jr., both of Monticello; his sister,Earleen Reid, of Monticello; six grandchildren; and onegreat-grandchild.

David Brian Laird

Services for David Brian Laird, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.today, Jan. 26 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in New Salem Church of Christ Cemetery.

Mr. Laird, 50, died Jan. 24, 2006, at his residence. He was bornon Feb. 13, 1955, to David W. Laird and Eva Nell Smith Laird.

He was a truck driver and a DJ for WBKN radio in Brookhaven. Hewas a member of Brookway Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors are his mother; his wife, Gaye Laird, of Brookhaven;his son, Shay Laird; his stepsons, Shawn Tolbert, of ColoradoSprings, Colo., and Iain Mathes, of Brookhaven; his brother, KevinLaird and his wife, Robin, of Brookhaven; his sisters, Linda Lairdand Wanda Laird and her husband, Griffin, all of Brookhaven; andone grandchild.

Fred ‘Barry’ Morris Jr.

Services for Fred “Barry” Morris Jr., of Lafayette, La., are 1p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapelwith burial in Easthaven Cemetery.

Mr. Morris, 47, died Jan. 24, 2006, in Texas. He was born onAug. 20, 1958, to Fred Barry Morris and Ruthlyn Case.

He was a mud logger. He graduated from Brookhaven High School in1976 and attended Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and the Universityof Southern Mississippi. He was a member of the Church of Christ.He was an avid golfer.

Preceding him in death was father.

Survivors are his mother; his sisters, Melinda Morris, Jan Garonand her husband, Mickey, and Susan Calhoun and her husband, Casey,all of Brookhaven; his nieces, April Garon, Maegen Calhoun andSummer Calhoun, all of Brookhaven.

Joe P. Newsome

Services for Joe P. Newsome, of Monticello, are 2 p.m. Friday,Jan. 27 at Oak Grove M.B. Church in Monticello with burial inBethany Church Cemetery in Jayess.

Mr. Newsome, 53, died Jan. 23, 2006, in Monticello. He was bornon May 20, 1952, to Fannie Newsome.

He was disabled. He served in the Army. He was a member of OakGrove M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his mother; his sisters, Lula Maeand Frankie Newsome.

Survivors are his wife, Larissa Regar Newsome, of Monticello;and his sister, Mary Newsome, of Monticello.

Rosetta Rancifer Roundtree

Mrs. Roundtree, 92, died Jan. 21, 2006, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Lucien on March 12, 1913, to JohnnyRancifer and Mary Kelly Rancifer.

She was a retired cafeteria worker in the Brookhaven SchoolSystem for 33 years. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, M.L.Roundtree; her son, M.L. Roundtree Jr; seven siblings; and agrandchild, Bennett Manning.

Survivors are her daughter, Mary R. Manning, of Brookhaven;three grandchildren, James Otis Jr., Rosetta Brown and CrystalJackson, all of Brookhaven; eight great-grandchildren; onegreat-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives andfriends.
