CLARKSDALE — Both Co-Lin basketball teams remained undefeatedMonday night as the Wolves and Lady Wolves swept an MACJCdoubleheader from the Coahoma Community College Tigers. The LadyWolves whipped Coahoma 72-55, powered by Erica Trahan and NikkiWilliams with 19 and 16 points respectively.

In the men’s game, Co-Lin overcame 25 turnovers to clip theTigers 69-62, paced by Greg Truvillion’s 20 points. Corey Londonpitched in 14 points and Julius Banks 12.

Co-Lin (3-0) plays its first home games Thursday night, hostingthe Holmes Community College Bulldogs. The women’s game tips off at6 p.m. in Mullen Gymnasium, followed by the men at 8.

The Lady Wolves (3-0) outrebounded Coahoma47-26. Trahan, a 5-11 sophomore from Baton Rouge, La., also grabbed13 rebounds. Williams and Dominique Whitfield each had 7rebounds.

“It was a good win on the road but we still need moreconsistency on offense,” said Co-Lin women’s coach Gwyn Young. “Wehad a 16-point lead late in the second half but Coahoma cut it tothree. We made a great run at the end and won by 17.”

Kimberly Kerns directed the Lady Tigers with 13 points. OmeshiaFrost had 12 points.

The Wolves (3-0) overcame 25 turnovers to beatCoahoma. Truvillion, a 6-8 sophomore from Lansing, Mich., also had10 rebounds. Christian Marshall accounted for 12 rebounds.

London, a freshman guard from Irondale, Ala., also made 4assists and 2 steals. Dexter Brunson had 4 steals and 2assists.

“We struggled taking care of the ball,” said Co-Lin men’s coachDennis Sims. “Anytime you have 25 turnovers, you will have troublewinning.”

Sims was happy to see his team converting 11 of 12 free throwsin the final four minutes of action.

Coahoma was led by Travaris Washington’s 15 points and 6rebounds.
