West Lincoln wins over Bogue Chitto

The host West Lincoln Lady Bears whipped the Bogue Chitto LadyBobcats 8-1 Thursday night in slowpitch softball action. The Bearsare No. 1 and the ‘Cats are No. 2 in the 7-1A division race.

West Lincoln improved to 13-9 overall an 4-1 in division play.Bogue Chitto fell to 4-1 in the division and 11-9 on theseason.

“I asked the girls to give me seven good innings and we wouldwin,” said West Lincoln coach Andrew Redd. “That was what they did.Bogue Chitto did not hit as well as they normally do. But to beatthem, you still have to play your best.”

West Lincoln plays Saturday in the Brookhaven tournament andresume division play Tuesday at Natchez Cathedral.

“West Lincoln did a great job hitting and we did a poor job,”said Bogue Chitto coach Scott Leggett. “We must regroup and preparefor the playoffs.”
