Wilcher’s 19 points pace Co-Lin Wolves

WESSON — Anthony Wilcher produced a career-high 19 pointsMonday night, powering the Co-Lin Wolves to an 84-50 trouncing ofthe Jones County Junior College Bobcats in Mullen Gymnasium.Wilcher his 5 treys in his total as Co-Lin improved its record to13-4 overall and 7-0 in the South Division.

Wilcher, a 6-5 sophomore from McCall Creek, was joined in doubledigits by guards Trent Hutchin and Corey London with 18 and 15points respectively.

“We shot the ball extremely well,” said Co-Lin coach DennisSims, pointing to his team’s 63 percent field goal shooting. HisWolves made 57 percent from 3-point range and 78 percent at thefree throw line.

“Wilcher had a good game and everyone shot the ball well,” saidSims. “Our defense made it tough for Jones and we held them to 50points.”

On the backboards, Co-Lin held a 30-23 advantage, led by GregTruvillion’s 9 rebounds. Lawanski Newsome chipped in 7rebounds.

The Bobcats (7-11, 3-4) are coached by Kyle Roane. They trailed41-23 at halftime.

Directing JCJC and all scorers was Trenton Marshall with 25points. Marshall is a 6-5 freshman from Garyville, La.
