A Meadville man was killed in a single-vehicle accident Thursdaymorning in Franklin County.

Franklin County Coroner Percy Peeler confirmed Friday thatMorgan Seth Allen, 24, of 4964 McNair Road NW, was pronounced deadon the scene after wrecking the brown four-door Chevrolet Suburbanhe was driving on Hamburg Road around 8 a.m. Thursday.

Peeler said he could not speculate on the cause of the accident,but that the vehicle had gone off the left side of the road and hadcome to rest on a bluff.

“A gentleman coming by saw the smoke from the engine, and thankgoodness he saw it because if he hadn’t, I don’t know when we’dhave found him,” he said.

Allen was an employee of Jordan, Kaiser & Sessions Engineersout of Natchez. The vehicle he was driving was registered to thecompany.

Peeler said Allen was the only occupant of the vehicle, and thathe was wearing a seat belt.
