Visitation for Imogene (Jean) Kyzar Smith, of Bogue Chitto, isFriday, Oct. 29, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family FuneralService.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Pleasant HillBaptist Church in Bogue Chitto, with burial in the churchcemetery.

Mrs. Smith, 87, died Oct. 25, 2010, in League City, Texas. She wasborn in Bogue Chitto, on Feb. 3, 1923, to Fred Henry Kyzar andLaura Belle Moak Kyzar.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend andwas an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Jean servedas the personal secretary for Dr. Darrell Robinson during histenures at First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas, for eightyears, and Dauphine Way Baptist Church in Mobile, Ala., for sixyears. She was on the founding board of Total Church LifeMinistries, which began in 1983 and has grown into a national andinternational mission/evangelism ministry. Jean activelyparticipated in this ministry as long as she was physically able.She was also once chairman of the Homebound Ministry at PleasantHill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto. She was a member of the ChloeHolt Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution(DAR). Jean especially enjoyed getting together with her friends onMondays for “game day.”

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Felix GroverSmith; and her brother, Thomas Levi Kyzar.

Survivors are her sister, Kathleen Robinson and her husband, Dr.Darrell Robinson of The Woodlands, Texas; her son, William (Bill)T. Smith and his wife, Debora, of Deer Park, Texas; her son, Joe G.Smith and his wife, Carolyn, of Bogue Chitto; her daughter, Cynthia(Cindy) J. Herrington and her husband, William (Bill), ofDickinson, Texas; her grandchildren, Brian and Lindsey Smith, Caleband Jared Smith, and Micah Herrington and his wife, Mariann; herstepgrandchildren, Kristi Click and her husband, Corey, and MistiBriles; and her three great-stepgrandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Hill BaptistChurch Building Fund, 2305 Pleasant Hill Drive, Bogue Chitto, MS39629, or to Total Church Life Ministries, 88 West SandalbranchCircle, Spring, Texas 77382.
