Robert Edward ‘Buddy’ Waldrop

Funeral services for Robert Edward “Buddy” Waldrop, 30, ofBrookhaven, who died Jan. 25, 2011, in Brookhaven, will be held at2 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 2, at Assumption Catholic Church inNatchez, with Father David O’Connor and Father Mike O’Brienofficiating. Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under thedirection of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at thechurch.

Mr. Waldrop was born Nov. l8, 1980, in Baytown, Texas, the son ofRobert Evette and Julia Evelyn Magee Waldrop.

Buddy was an Eagle Scott in Troop No. 157 under Dr. Charles Borum.He was a journeyman electrician with Rowan Drilling Company. Mr.Waldrop was a member of the Catholic faith and a loving father andhusband. He graduated with honors from Adams County School andSouthwest Mississippi Community College. He was a member of IBEWLocal Union 480.

Mr. Waldrop was preceded by his paternal grandparents, E.A. andRobbie Waldrop; his maternal grandparents, Wesley and Bertie Magee;his brother, Robert Evette Waldrop; and one aunt, MargieVaillencourt.

Survivors include his parents; one brother, Steve Waldrop, all ofNatchez; his wife, Nicole Waldrop of Brookhaven; one son anddaughter, Robert Joseph and Hailey Elizabeth, both of Brookhaven;his in-laws, Ronald and Alise Meche of Bogue Chitto; aunts anduncles, Lola Nebel of Butler, Pa., and Howard and wife Betty Mageeof Ocean Springs; nieces and nephews, Wesley Waldrop of Tokyo,Japan, Lauren Waldrop of New Hebron, Wis., and uncle, Dicky Waldropof Emory, Texas.

Pallbearers are Eagle Scouts and friends, Jason Tyson, JasonJordan, Elliot Green, Lee Best, Allen Whittington and JohnBorum.

Honorary pallbearers are John Williamson, Danny Edwards and Dr.Charles Borum.
