Tuesday accident claims life

A Wesson woman died Tuesday afternoon after sustaining injuriesin a one-vehicle accident on Heuck’s Retreat Road, said LincolnCounty Sheriff’s Department Sheriff Steve Rushing.

Juna Gale White, 59, of 1899 Heuck’s Retreat Road, Wesson, died at12:20 p.m. after the 2005 silver PT Cruiser she was driving ran offthe road at about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, said Deputy Coroner RobertTyler.

Tyler said she died of multiple injuries.

Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris said she died at the scene ofthe accident after King’s Daughters Medical Center respondersattempted to save White’s life.

Rushing said the accident occurred near Clark Travis Lane, about amile from White’s home, and she was headed toward Brookhaven.

“She left the roadway and struck a tree and a fence,” said Rushing.”She was the only person in the car.”

Rushing added that the cause of the accident is still underinvestigation.

Brookhaven Fire Department Station Two was also called to respondto the accident. However, upon arrival firefighters discoveredthere was no need for the Jaws of Life.

Services for White are incomplete and Riverwood Family FuneralService is in charge of arrangements.
