He has served as an assistant manager and store manager for Verizon Wireless in several Mississippi cities, most recently in Hattiesburg, where he was employed prior to joining The DAILY LEADER.

Brown, who grew up in Madison, also has worked in management for The Parker House Restaurant in Ridgeland, for Marcus Martin Builder LLC in Brandon and for the Bombay Company in Ridgeland.

He studied graphic design at Mississippi State University and is the recipient of numerous awards for outstanding sales efforts.

Moving to Lincoln County is like coming home for the new LEADER manager, since Brown’s wife, the former Liana Bass, grew up in Brookhaven.

“Zane’s extensive sales background, coupled with his connections to the local area, makes him an ideal fit for the position,” Eide said.

“Zane has already hit the ground running, and we look forward to the new ideas and energy he will bring to our advertising sales,” she continued. “We believe our advertisers also will enjoy working with him and benefitting from his sales expertise.”

As retail advertising manager, Brown directs the other retail advertising sales staff and oversees the newspaper’s local area sales.
