Funeral services for Irma Lee Van Norman Blades, of Brookhaven, are 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive, with burial in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb at 3 p.m. The Rev. Ron Kitchens will officiate.

     Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Blades, 89, died July 1, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born in McComb on Dec. 20, 1922, to G.T. Blailock Sr. and Jessie Lee Brewer Blailock.

     She was a homemaker and formerly worked as a seamstress at Sew & Save in Brookhaven. Mrs. Blades was a longtime member of Jackson Street United Methodist Church of Brookhaven.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, Robert Lester Van Norman Jr.; second husband, Ralph Lee Blades; grandson, Stephen Jarrod Davis; great-granddaughter, Blair Elizabeth Ezell; sister, Ethel McKinley; and brother, G.T. Blailock Jr.

     Survivors are her daughter, Lynn Davis and husband, Iddo L. Davis Jr., of Brookhaven; sons, Robert Lester Van Norman III and wife, Rita, of Spearfish, S.D., and Claude W. Van Norman and wife, Ann, of Brookhaven; sister, Mrs. Johnnie Ham, of Denham Springs, La.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jackson Street United Methodist Church, 908 North Jackson St., Brookhaven, MS 39601.
