The Loyd Star Lady Hornets defeated the Lady Green Wave of Natchez Cathedral 43-30  in Thursday night junior high action, led by Makenzie Smith’s 15 points. Cathedral won the junior high boys game 49-25.

     The Lady Hornets got 10 points from Kaylee Grace Yarborough.

     The Hornets were led by Zac Arnold’s 13 points. Chandler Barnett provided 4 points.

     Will Wallace pumped in a game-high 16 points to lead the Green Wave. William Doss contributed 13 points.

     Loyd Star’s junior high action continues Monday. The Hornets and Lady Hornets host Bogue Chitto for four games. Game time starts with the seventh grade girls at 4 p.m., followed by the boys.

     The junior high girls tip off at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7.
