Frank S. Swalm

Frank S. Swalm, 89 of Magee, went to his Heavenly home Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Magee General Hospital.

     Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Natchez National Cemetery at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012.

     Mr. Swalm served his country in the United States Air Force for 25 years and retired as a Major in 1969. He enjoyed attending the reunions of the 376th Aero Squadron for many years.

     He had a special love for his family and enjoyed being in their presence.

     After retiring from the Natchez-Adams Public School System, he enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, Esther.

     Mr. Swalm enjoyed woodworking, reading, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Magee First United Methodist Church.

     Mr. Swalm is survived by his wife of almost 66 years: Esther B. Swalm, Magee; children: Michael Swalm (Jan), Lawrence, Kan.; Christopher Swalm (Renee), Slidell, La.; David Swalm (Kathy), Magee; John Swalm (Elizabeth), Natchez, and Beth Pudas (Matt), Magee; grandchildren: Christina, Jami, Todd, Jason, Emily, Laura, Andy, Alison, Jessica, Stephanie and Jonas; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters: Grayce Mary Kelly, Carolyn Buchanan; sister-in-law: Beth Swalm, New Ulm, Texas, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

     He is preceded in death by his parents: Frank Martin Swalm and Grace Clarkston; grandson: Peter Swalm and brother: Dave C. Swalm.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to USO, the VFW Home for Children, Feed the Children, World Vision or a charity of your choice.
