Funeral services for Eloise Tews Smith of Brandon, formerly of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Sutton Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 89, died Feb. 21, 2013 at River Oaks Hospital. She was born in Mississippi on Dec. 2, 1923 to Fritz H. Tews and Olga Boone Heit.

She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She loved sewing and stitching. Mrs. Smith was a military wife for 28 years and a police wife for 20 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Leroy Carl Smith Sr.; sister, Margrette Anawaty; and great-granddaughter, Katy Barras.

Survivors are her son, L.C. “Buddy” Smith Jr.; daughters, Sandra Hart and husband, Tillman, Sherry Foote and husband, Lamar, and Kathy Leonard and husband, Freddie; nine grandchildren, Lance Hart, Debbie Shows, Christy Barras, Scooter Foote, Heather Bonds, Heath Leonard, Cody Smith, Devin Smith and Tori Smith; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Shows, Scott Barras, Steve Barras, Landon Roberts, Caleb Bonds and Cody Smith.
