Bogue Chitto surpasses Enterprise

BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Bobcats climbed back into the win column Monday night with a 7-3 victory over their Lincoln County rivals, the Enterprise Yellow Jackets, in non-divisional baseball action at Stan Long Field.

The Jackets (10-10, 8-2) will play a warm up game Friday as they travel to Terry to play against the Terry Bulldogs. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 7 p.m.

The Bobcats and Jackets provided an exciting baseball game for their fans as both teams competed in their tough rivalry.

Bogue Chitto secured the first lead of the contest in the bottom of the first inning as they pushed across one run to take a 1-0 lead.

Enterprise would later answer and take the lead from BC in the top of the third with a two-run jolt for a 2-1 lead.

The Bobcats would answer the challenge and reclaim the lead with three runs in the bottom of the third and fourth inning to secure a 7-3 advantage to grab the win.

Bo Smithers was the winning pitcher for BC with two strikeouts and five walks.

Jackson Cole suffered the setback for the Jackets with six strikeouts and one walk.

Brock Roberts powered the Bobcats at the plate with a double and two singles. Steven Ginn contributed a double and a single. Landon Roberts provided two singles. Hitting safely were Brooks Ingle and Tucker Lambert.

Hunter Richardson was the top slugger at the plate for Enterprise with a double. Austin Fuller, Max Miller and Layne Brown hit safely.
