Funeral services for Marshall Kenneth Smith of McCall Creek are 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at McCall Creek Church of God with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.
The Rev. Smith, 79, died April 23, 2014, at his home. He was born in Franklin County on Dec. 19, 1934, to the late Marshall Sam Smith and Idell Anderson Smith.
He was a member of McCall Creek Church of God and a retired minister, having pastored for more than 50 years in Mississippi and Louisiana. He taught MIP, an extension of Lee University, and was also a retired school teacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jonell Case.
He is survived by his wife, Vonceil M. Smith of McCall Creek; one son, Kenneth Smith, Jr. of McComb; three grandchildren, Taylor Smith, William Smith and Kelly Smith; one brother, Douglas Smith and wife, Elizabeth, of Petal, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McCall Creek Church of God Missions Program.
