Bulldogs surpass Tigers

CRYSTAL SPRINGS – The Franklin County Bulldogs used a full dose of Bernard Selmon and Michael White Friday night to beat the Crystal Springs Tigers 25-13. Selmon rushed for 122 yards on 32 carries with three touchdowns, while White made a career high three interceptions.
FC (5-3, 3-0) moved within a game of clinching a playoff spot. The Bulldogs are also two wins away from clinching their first district 7-3A title since 2006.
Selmon, a 5-11, 205-pound senior scored on runs of 1, 2, and 3-yards respectfully. FC led 19-6 after three quarters of play.
Franklin County’s hard hitting defense made a variety of big plays, led by senior Danzel Allen who registered 10 tackles, a sack, deflected two passes, and made an interception.
DeAnthony King led the FC defense with 16 hits, while Chris O’Quinn made 15 tackles. Gerryion Bell made an interception and had three tackles.
White’s three picks came as he continues to lead South 3A as one of the top defensive backs in the state. The cat-quick senior tied a school record for interceptions in a single game.
The Bulldogs, who currently lead the 7-3A standings, will play host to Wesson this Friday in Meadville’s Louie Mullins Memorial Stadium at 7.
