Superintendent Mickey Myers told the Lincoln County school board Monday that the district will need to hire new principals at Bogue Chitto and West Lincoln attendance centers.
“The biggest job I have between now and the April 18 board meeting is to locate principals,” Myers said. “And I’ll be on it like a bloodhound. I think we have a wonderful situation in Lincoln County that will attract good individuals.”
Myers was the former principal at Bogue Chitto. He was elected superintendent in January. Jason Case is currently the principal at West Lincoln. He ran against Myers for the superintendent position. Myers did not discuss when Case was leaving or where he was going. Case is still listed as principal on the school district’s website.
Myers said that when attending state superintendent meetings, it is stressed that the superintendent’s biggest job is to hire principals. If you hire the right people so many of the problems can be eliminated, he said.
The board will review Myers’ principal recommendations at the April 18 board meeting.
