2017 Les’ Belles Jr. Ambassadors welcomed

The 2017 Les’ Belles de Hospitalite’ have begun their duties as the Christmas season is kicked off by the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. Serving as ambassadors to the business community, this group of yound women work to make sure Chamber events go smoothly.

Kelly MacKenzie Brister, the daughter of Mark and Andrea Brister, attends Brookhaven Academy, where she is a member of Positive Choices Club and First Priority Club. Honors include National Junior Honor Society, honor roll and Mississippi Junior Scholar. She has been on the archery team since seventh grade. She participates in Red Ribbon Week, Operation Christmas Child and Pennies for Patients. She has volunteered at the Exchange Club Fair and Brookhaven LIttle Theatre Kids Drama Camp. She attends Topisaw Baptist Church.

Morgyn Alana Brister, the daughter of Gwen and Dale Brister, attends Loyd Star Attendance Center, where she is on the soccer, tennis and cheer teams. She is a member of FFA, FCA, student council and Beta Club. She has been on All A honor roll for three years and has received multiple highest average awards. SHe was also awarded Student of the Year in seventh grade. She has been awarded All-American in cheer, most improved girl in tennis most improved girl, rookie of the year and scholastic athlete in soccer. At church, she is involved in our youth group, and she volunteers yearly at the Exchange Club Fair.

Carley E. Craig, the daughter of Celine Craig and James Craig, attends Brookhaven High School. She is a member of BHS cross country team, St. Francis of Assisi youth group, National Junior Honor Society and is a dancer at Showstoppers Studio of Dance. She has been on the All A honor Roll and received Duke TIP Award, highest average in math, science, technology, English, etc. She received the scholastic award for cross country in junior high.

Julianna Risa Crosby, the daughter of Ricky and LIsa Crosby, attends Brookhaven Academy, where she is a member of National Junior Honor Society and was vice president of her eighth grade class. She has been named to the All A honor roll, received the highest average in math in eighth grade and placed in the top four in the math competition at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in seventh and eighth grades. She is also a member of the BA basketball team and is a dancer at Nena Smith School of Dance. SHe is a member of Johnson Grove Church of Christ and is active in the youth group.

Lucy Watkins Donegan, the daughter of Ron and Sharyl Donegan, attends Brookhaven High School, where she is a member of the soccer team, serves as cross country manager, participated in 2016 homecoming production and was named to the 2016 homecoming court. She has been named to the A-B honor roll, National Junior Honor Society and Mississippi Rising Scholar. She attends First Methodist Church and has participated in several plays at the Brookhaven Little Theatre.

Anna Catherine Ferguson, the daughter of Jennifer Case and Seth Ferguson, attends Loyd Star Attendance Center, where she participates in varsity cheer, track, Beta Club and soccer. She is a member of Mississippi Gym of Dreams competitive cheer and Macedonia ACTeens. She has been named to the All A honor roll and served as vice-president of her class. She has been chosen as a beauty in school pageants and most beautiful in Lion’s Club beauty pageant.

Margaret “Meg” Sproles Foster, the daughter of Stan and Sarah Foster, attends Brookhaven High School, where she is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has been named to the A-B honor roll. She has been a member of the BHS slow and fast pitch softball teams for three years and served as AJH basketball manager in eighth grade. She was a trainbearer in the 2013 charity Ball court. She is an active member of First Baptist Church and Girl Scouts. She is a piano student and has been a Super Summer participant. She has volunteers on Ecuador mission trips to an orphanage, as vacation Bible school youth work and with Upward Basketball.

Gracie Layton Gray, the daughter of Bruce and Leigh Cher Gray, attends Brookhaven High School. She is a leader for FCA, a member of cross country and track teams and participated in Homecoming production. She was named to the National Junior Honor Society and All A honor roll. She received MVP in cross country in 2014 and Panther Award for cross country in 2015. She was chosen for FCA leadership team and served as director of first BLTeen Young Director’s Project. She was a senate page for Sen. Sally Doty in 2014. She is a member of the youth group at First United Methodist Church and has helped with vacation Bible school.  She is an active member of Brookhaven LIttle Theatre, and she has served as a counselor at the BLT children’s camp. She was also a member of KDMC’s mission team to Honduras in 2016.

Rivers Finley Gray, the daughter of Bruce and Leigh Cher Gray, attends Brookhaven High School. She is a member of FCA, the tennis team and is the manager of the cross country team. She also participated in homecoming production. She was named to the National Junior Honor Society, All A honor roll and was awarded AJH seventh grade scholastic award for girls basketball. She served as senate page for Sen. Sally Doty in 2014. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church youth group and has served as a helper for vacation Bible school. She served on the KDMC mission team to Honduras in 2016.

Jaynie Grace Henning, the daughter of Paul and DeeDee Henning, attends Brookhaven High School, where she is a member of FCA and the bass fishing team. She also participated in homecoming production and has been named to the A-B honor roll. She has served as stat girl for the baseball team and is a member of Red Nation. She plays piano and was named eighth grade representative at AJH. She is active in the First Baptist Church – Brookhaven youth group, participated in Super Summer, mission trips, vacation Bible school, nursing home ministry and has led and been a member of several Bible studies.

Zoey Claire Hinton, the daughter of Brent and Cindy Hinton, attends Brookhaven High School. She has been named to the All A honor roll and is a Mississippi Scholar. She was a member of 2015 BHS cross country team. She was named to the National Junior Honor Society and was named the highest mathematics average in eighth grade at AJH. She is a member of First Baptist Church youth group and has served a vacation Bible school volunteer.

Elizabeth Hancock Hutson, the daughter of Michael and Jennifer Hutson, attends Brookhaven High School, where she participated in homecoming production. She was a Diamond Doll in seventh and eighth grades and was an AJH cheerleader in seventh grade. She was named Who’s Who best personality in eighth grade. She is a member of First United Methodist Church youth group and has danced with Brookhaven Ballet, Brookhaven Dance Academy and Showstoppers Studio of Dance.

Abby Marie Jordan, the daughter of Brandon and Stephanie Jordan, attends West Lincoln Attendance Center, where she is on the A-B honor roll. She is a member of the soccer team and is a varsity cheerleader. She is an active member of Adams United Methodist Church youth group.

Lucie Iles LeBlanc, the daughter of Mark and Dorothy LeBlanc, attends Brookhaven Academy. She served as eighth-grade representative and participated on the robotics team in eighth grade. In ninth grade, she is serving as class representative and is amember of Positive Choices Club, Teenage Young Republicans Club and Science Club. SHe is a also president of the National Junior Honor Society. In eighth grade, she had the highest average in math, computer and history and served as vice-president of the National Junior Honor Society. She was chosen as student of the month and youth of the month and voted eighth grade class favorite. He was named to the president’s list (all averages 95 percent or above) in ninth grade. She is a member of the soccer, track and basketball teams. She was eighth grade homecoming maid and Glenda the Good Witch in “The Wizard of Oz.” She is soccer referee for the Brookhaven Recreation Department and babysits for friends and neighbors. She is a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, participates with the youth group at Faith Presbyterian Church, volunteers at Angel’s Attic, attends camp in North Carolina at Kanuga Conference Center and youth events at Camp Bratton Green in Canton.

Hana Nicole Linton, the daughter of Paula Linton, attends West Lincoln Attendance Center. She is a member of Arlington Baptist Church youth group.

Graci Marie Malone, the daughter of Cary and Sandie Smith and Ronnie Malone Jr., attends Brookhaven Academy. She is a member of of the science club and the Magnolia Avenue Chapter of the Mississippi Children of the AMerican Revolution. She is the veteran’s committee chairman of the Mississippi Society of C.A.R. and has served as emcee of the BA elementary school pageant. She also participated on the robotics team. She won the award for highest overall average in Algebra I, reading, science, English and world geography. She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and is a junior scholar. She has been named student of the month and fine arts student of the month, and she was chosen for the Duke Talent Identification Program. She is a member of the BA tennis team. She played Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz.” She placed first in the school and district science fair in seventh grade and won third at state. In her eighth grade year, she won second in the school science fair. She attends Faith Presbyterian Church and is active in the youth program. She danced with Showstoppers Studio of Dance as part of their award-winning competitive team. She has participated in the Brookhaven Little Theatre’s Drama Camp and served as a counselor. She also played Annie in the BLT production of “Annie Jr.” in 2015.

Gracey Massengill, daughter of Robb and Fran Massengill, attends Brookhaven High School. She is a member of National Junior Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America. She has been named to the All A honor roll and received the technology award. She was a member of the cross country team in eighth grade and Mississippi Music Educators All State Honor Choir. SHe is a member of Faith Presbyterian Church and youth group. She has been involved in a number of plays at the Brookhaven Little Theatre. She also started her own business selling jewelry and clothing.

Layna Rachelle Myers, the daughter of Ricky and Paula Myers, attends Loyd Star Attendance where she is a member of the choir and FCA. She has been named to the All A honor roll and is a dancer and student dance instructor at Brookhaven Dance Academy. She is a member of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church.

Anna Renee Noble, the daughter of Johnny and Stephanie Noble, attends West Lincoln Attendance Center. She is a Mississippi Scholar and was named most improved. She is a member of the tennis team and the youth group at Arlington Baptist Church. She dances with Showstoppers Studio of Dance and volunteers with Brookhaven Animal Rescue League.

Lindsey Leigh Norton, the daughter of Leigh Ann Norton and Shane Norton, attends Brookhaven Academy, where she is a member of Positive Choices Club and the honor society. She is in honors English and was named to the honor roll. She received the highest average in pre-algebra. She is a member of the cheer team and is junior high captain. She was named an all-american cheerleader. She is a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church ACTeens.

Georgia Grace O’Quinn attends Enterprise Attendance Center, where she is a member of Junior Beta, Beta Club, FBLA and the yearbook staff. She has been named to the All A honor roll several years. She is a member of the cheer team and was nominated for All-American cheerleader. She has placed in several dance competitions and has been chosen to attend several BETA leadership conferences. She is a member of Decell United Methodist Church. She is a dancer for Showstoppers Studio of Dance.

Joanne Kaye Petty, daughter of Rhonda and Joel Petty, attends West Lincoln Attendance Center, where she is a member of Senior Beta. She has been named to the All A honor roll and has received highest average and most dedicated awards. She is a member of junior high basketball team and Siloam Baptist Church youth group.

Gracie Elizabeth Piper, the daughter of Michael and Bethany Piper, attends Brookhaven High School, where she is a member of the band and color guard. She has been named to the A-B honor roll. She participates in the Rock Solid youth group and attends First United Methodist Church.

Bailey Juliette Pounds, the daughter of Trey and Julie Pounds, attends Brookhaven High School where she serves as treasurer and ninth-grade representative. She participated in the 2016 homecoming production and was named to the A-B honor roll. She is member of the National Junior Honor Society and BHS cross country team. She received the most improved runner award in 2015. She was a member of the AJH track team in eighth grade, where she won first place in the 1-mile event at the district meet. She won an eighth-grade beauty in the 2016 Ole Brook Beauty Pageant. She has participated in Brookhaven Little Theatre’s drama camp as camper and counselor and several BLT plays.

Kirsten Elizabeth Scroggs, the daughter of Jacob and April Scroggs, attends Loyd Star Attendance Center, where she is a member of the band and the FFA. She is on the All A honor roll and is the secretary of the FFA. She is also the co-section leader of the trumpet section.

Emily Ann Sibley, the daughter of Billy and Melissa Brent, attends Enterprise Attendance Center, where she is member of FFA. She is a member of the National Barrel Horse Association and is a barrel racer.

Gracie Leighton Smith, the daughter of Chris and Brandy Smith, attends Loyd Star Attendance Center, where she has been a member of the Junior Beta Club, the Beta Club, the cheer and basketball teams and FFA. She was named to the A-B honor roll and a beauty in seventh, eighth and ninth grade. She received the FFA equine achievement award in eighth grade. She is a member of Macedonia Baptist church and participates in the youth group and vacation Bible school. She is a member of the South Mississippi Horse Association where she currently serves as queen. She received the overall high point in the 13-17 year old division and placed at the State of Mississippi 2016 Championship Show in Jackson and the National Barrel Horse Association State Show in Starkville.

Abby Gayle Smith, the daughter of Scott and Heather Smith, attends Brookhaven High School, where she is a member of the cheer team and FCA. She is a Gym of Dreams competitive cheerleader and a member of Easthaven Baptist Church youth group. She was an AJH office aide and a lamplighter at Lipsey. She was named to the All-A honor roll and is a Mississippi Rising Scholar. She competed at Worlds Cheer Competition in Orlando, Florida, and has her own jewelry business – Abby G Originals. She is a volunteer at Baptist Children’s Village.

Taylor Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Beth and Jereme Smith, attends Loyd Star Attendance Center where she is on the A-B honor roll. She served on the student council in eighth grade and is a member of the Lady Hornet basketball and varsity cheer teams. She was a member of the junior high basketball and cheer teams in seventh and eighth grade. She has been a class favorite in seventh, eighth and ninth grades. She is an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church in the youth group, Sunday school and youth choir. She is also a dancer at Showstoppers Studio of Dance, where she is a member of the competitive team.

Julia Ann Townsend, the daughter of DJ and Ashley Townsend, attends Enterprise Attendance Center. She is a member of Senior Beta, FBLA, student council, first priority and a member of the yearbook staff. She is an honor roll student and was selected to be a diamond doll for the baseball team. She has been chosen student of the month numerous times and student of the year. She is a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and youth group.

Carly Beth Wallace, the daughter of Chris and Carla Wallace, attends Loyd Star Attendance Center, where she is a member of FCA and Beta Club. She has been named to the All A honor roll.

MaryRhea Nix Waterloo, the daughter of Trey and Emily Waterloo, attends Brookhaven High School. She is freshmen class president and has been named student of the month. She is also active with the Brookhaven Little Theatre. She competed in cross country district and was winner of the Lion’s Club Water Carnival. She was director of BLT’s “Waiting for Lucy,” played Ariel in “The Little Mermaid” and Pepper in “Annie Jr.” She is active in the First Baptist Church youth group and the praise team.

Riley Karsten Watts, the daughter of Ryan and Kristi Watts, attends Bogue Chitto Attendance Center, where she is a member of the Senior Beta Club and student council. She is an honor roll students and was chosen as ninth grade student of the month in September. She received the principal’s award for MCT2 test scores and served as president and secretary during her three-year membership of Junior Beta Club. She also was in the Explorers gifted program. She isa member of the Gold in Motion dance team and Lady Cats basketball team. She received the superior award at state Bible drill competition twice. She attended 2016 Super Summer and is a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she is active in the youth group, discipleship training and choir. She plays piano.

Bailey Elizabeth Wilson, the daughter of Jason and Anita Jane Wilson, attends West Lincoln Attendance Center. She is a member of the Senior Beta Club, FCA, West Lincoln booster club, slow- and fast-pitch softball, basketball and cheerleader teams. She has been named to the All A honor roll and received the highest overall GPA, highest average, student of the month, student of the year, scholar athlete award and class president. She is a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ and is active in the Johnson Grove Youth Group.

Emmaline Grace Wolfe, the daughter of Nick and Cristi Wolfe, attends Brookhaven High School, where she is a member of choir, FCA and cross country and track teams. She is also a member of the First Baptist praise band and participates in Bible Drill. She has been on the honor roll and was chosen for the Duke TIP program in seventh grade. She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She received the highest GPA in the AJH choir.

Tabbetha Brooke Wyant, the daughter of Jaime and Pam Wyant, attends Loyd Star Attendance Center, where she is a member of Beta Club, FCA and choir. She has been named to the honor roll. She is a member of the soccer and cheer teams and was a member of the junior high softball, cheer and basketball teams. She was eight grade homecoming maid and ninth grade vice president. She was chosen as All-American cheerleader in 2015. She is active in New Hope youth group.
