Services for Mrs. Johnnie “Jewel” Martin, of Brookhaven, are Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at noon at Union Baptist Church with burial at the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Mrs. Martin, 91, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Diversicare Nursing Home in Brookhaven. She was born June 18, 1926, to Willie Ellis Daniel Martin and Mollie Mary Jane Williamson Martin. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for several retail stores. She enjoyed quilting and painting.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Jesse Martin and Estus “Shine” Martin; sisters, Myrtis Allen, Delores Thames, Elvis Sartin and Melva Boyte.

Survivors are her husband, Felda Collins Martin; son, Randy Sherrod Kenner and wife Stacy, of Brandon; daughter, Sandra Kay Martin Hugg and husband David, of Atlanta, Texas; five grandchildren, Kimberly Kenner Doster, Mindy Kenner Becker, Kristina Seyfarth, Josh Champion and Megan Champion Corkern; and eight great-grandchildren.
