Junior Ambassadors promote Chamber of Commerce

The 2019 Junior Ambassadors have begun their duties as the Christmas season was kicked off by the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. Serving as ambassadors to the business community, this group of young women work to make sure Chamber events go smoothly.
Each Junior Ambassador must be a ninth-grade student and reside in Lincoln County.
Anna Caroline Adams of Brookhaven, a freshman at Brookhaven Academy, is the daughter of Lance and Melissa Adams. She is involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, science club and the Junior National Honor Society. She has been recognized with the following academic achievements: Junior MS Scholar; JNHS; Head of School honor roll for three years; ACT Aspire Excellence Award; Duke Tip Scholar; highest average in English, reading, math, science, history and computer for two years. Anna Caroline plays basketball and soccer — playing as part of the 2A District championship basketball team 2017-18 and winning the Golden Boot Award in soccer — and has been a cheerleader and member of the track team. She is a member of First Baptist Church where she is active in the youth group. She was chosen as Youth of the Month in February by the National Exchange Club.
Ameilia Kate Anding of Brookhaven, a freshman at BA, is the daughter of Staci and Jason Anding. She is involved in Positive Choices, Junior Scholars and Junior National Honor Society and has been named to the honor roll. She plays soccer, basketball and tennis and runs cross country and track. She is involved in the faith Presbyterian Church youth group.
Amira Alaina Al-Rai of Brookhaven, a freshman at Brookhaven High School, is the daughter of Delora and Yaman Al-Rai. She participates with the breast cancer awareness organization, A Night of Hope, and has been named to the honor roll. Amira plays in the band and was chosen as a student council representative in the eighth grade.
Katelyn Joy Berryhill of Bogue Chitto, a freshman at West Lincoln High School, is the daughter of Kayla Mabile and Allen Berryhill. She was a junior varsity cheerleader in eighth grade and is on the dance team. She received all A’s in world history, ICT1 and science in seventh grade and was named to the honor roll. She was also on the honor roll in seventh grade and scored advanced placement on the state math and science tests. She is involved with the Siloam Baptist Church youth group and participates with Operation Christmas Child. She has danced with Showstoppers Dance Studio in Brookhaven for 12 years.
Charley Ann Boyd of Bogue Chitto, a freshman at Bogue Chitto High School, is the daughter of Chad and Erica Moak. She is involved with the youth group at Moak Creek Baptist Church.
Sydney Kay Britt of Brookhaven, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of Leslie and Jason Britt. She is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and runs cross country and is on the honor roll. She attends First United Methodist Church and Easthaven Baptist Church.
Isabella Denise Ferguson of Wesson, a freshman at West Lincoln, is the daughter of Chad Ferguson. She is a member of Future Farmers of America and is a Gridiron Girl. She attends Gum Grove Baptist Church and is an active member of the youth group.
Mary Taylor Francis of Sontag, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of Jimmy and Holly Francis. She is involved with the Junior National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America and Beta Club, soccer and cheerleading. She’s been named an All American Cheerleader and was chosen as Lion’s Club Student of the Month. She is on the All A honor roll.
Katherine Kaylee Gifford of Brookhaven, a freshman at West Lincoln, is the daughter of Mary Blalock. She is on the honor roll and is involved in cheerleading, soccer and powerlifting. She attended D2 Summit in Disney for cheer completion. Katherine volunteers at a nursing home in Liberty and has been involved with Bible drill at Gum Grove for four years.
Alexandria D. Gines of Brookhaven, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of Michael and Teresa Gines. She is a member of the Brookhaven High School Band and “Pride of Ole Brook” color guard. Her academic achievements include honor roll, Mississippi Scholars, Lipsey Lamp-lighters and Quest and she was a stock market game finalist. She played fast-pitch softball. Alexandria is an active member of Mt. Wade Missionary Baptist Church.
Ainsley Morgan Griffin of Brookhaven, a freshman at West Lincoln, is the daughter of Clint and Jenni Griffin. She is involved in soccer and cheerleading and was on the honor roll in seventh- and eighth-grade. She won cheer awards in seventh grade. She participated in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church youth group.
Anna Catelyn Hall of Bogue Chitto, a freshman at BA, is the daughter of Todd and Wendy Hall. She is involved in Junior High National Society, Book Club, Science Club and is a class officer. She’s on the Headmasters List, honors English and has been a Student of the Month in her seventh-, eighth- and ninth-grade years. She is a Junior Scholar. Anna is also involved with Diamond Girls and tennis and was captain of the junior high cheerleading squad. She is a competitive cheerleader and dancer and was named a UCA All American Cheerleader. She competed at the World Championship for cheerleading and The Summit, both in Disney World. She is a member of Johnson Grove Church of Christ.
Abby Marie Jackson of Bogue Chitto, a freshman at West Lincoln, is the daughter of Justin and Heather Jackson. She is on the Gridiron team and plays basketball. An honor roll student, she won the citizenship award in the eighth grade and was a homecoming maid her eighth- and ninth-grade years. She is a member of the Church of Christ.
Brooklyn Nicole Laird of Brookhaven, a freshman at West Lincoln, is the daughter of Chad and Michelle Laird. She was involved with Junior Beth Club and is now in Senior Beta Club. An All A Honor Roll student, she received recognition for the highest academic average for science, history and agriculture. She was Student of the Month kindergarten through sixth grade and was Student of the Year twice. She has received the citizenship award and held the highest academic average in sciene in seventh grade. She is active in the youth group at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Lydia Michelle Little of Brookhaven, a freshman in homeschool, is the daughter of Jeff and Toni Little. She has been involved with the Nena Smith School of Dance. She is active with her church youth group worship team.
Amy Rebekah Melissa Mabile of Bogue Chitto, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of Terri and Matt Mabile. She plays in the band, plays soccer, runs cross country and is in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. An All A Honor Roll student, she has received the principal’s award in eighth grade and was most improved eighth-grade algebra student. She is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and won first place in the regional reading fair this year. She goes to Jackson Street United Methodist Church where she’s in the youth group and the choir. She volunteered over the summer at the Lincoln County Public Library.
Mallory Melissa Nations of Brookhaven, a freshman at Brookhaven Academy, is the daughter of Lance and Melissa Adams and the late Donn E. Nations. She is involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Science Club and Junior National Honor Society. She is also a Junior Mississippi Scholar and has been on the Head of School honor roll for three years. She earned the ACT Aspire Excellence Award. Mallory was a junior high cheerleader and ran track her seventh-grade year, on the varsity tennis team since sixth grade, on the basketball team since seventh grade and is a hydration hostess for the junior high football team. She was on the 2A District Champion basketball team her eighth-grade year and earned tennis awards for MAIS 2A South State runners up and 2A District runners up. She is a member of First Baptist Church where she is active in the youth group.
Jaide Danilyn Prather of Brookhaven, a freshman at Brookhaven High School, is the daughter of Bridget Prather and Jermaine Wilbert. She is a vocalist with the Ole Brook Singers and the S.O.S. Choir and was in All-State Honor Choir for two years. She’s an honor roll student and earned recognition for the highest grade in English. She plays basketball, soccer and softball, in which she earned recognition for “Most Improved.” She is also active in gymnastics and dance and was selected to perform with the Jubilee Performing Arts Conservatory in McComb. She is active on her church drama team and in Brookhaven Little Theatre.
Sidney K. Richardson of Brookhaven, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of Rebecca Byrd and Travis Byrd. She won the county spelling bee and earned fourth runner up at the district level. She’s an honor roll student and earned the highest math average overall for two consecutive years. She has played basketball and softball and earned the “Most Respectful Softball Player” award. She is active on her church drama team.
Ally Paige Roberts of Bogue Chitto, a freshman at Bogue Chitto High School, is the daughter of Melanie Roberts. She is active with the FCA and was on the student council in seventh grade as a class representative. An honor roll student, she was a junior high cheerleader. She is active at her church.
Cassidy Nicole Robinson of Brookhaven, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of Rev. Burnell and Rita Robinson. She is a vocalist in the high school choir and sang with the state Honor Choir for three years. She is in the Crump Chapel Church youth club and is on the competitive dance team with with Showstoppers Studio of Dance.
Madilyn Kate Rollinson of Bogue Chitto, a freshman at West Lincoln High School, is the daughter of Erin Corban. An honor roll student, she was active with cheer, basketball and softball her seventh- and eighth-grade years and soccer this year. She was named “Most Dedicated” in pre-algebra in eighth grade. She is active in the Easthaven Baptist Church youth group and is a volunteer with Operation Christmas Child.
Ann-Elise Rounsaville of Bogue Chitto, a freshman at BA, is the daughter of Clint and Christy Rounsaville. She is involved with science club and FCA. An honor roll student, she is a member of the Junior High National Honor Society and Mississippi Junior Scholars. She has participated in junior high basketball and soccer and was Student of the Month her seventh- and eighth-grade years. She is active in the First Baptist Church youth group.
Annie Elizabeth Sheppard of Brookhaven, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of Chris and Christy Sheppard. An honor roll student, she is on the soccer team. She is a member of Nola Baptist Church where she is active with the youth group and helps with music and the nursery during VBS. She ministered with her youth group at the Lawrence County Nursing Home, Crisis Pregnancy Center and the Dickerson Place.
Angelina Eugenia Shows of Brookhaven, a freshman at West Lincoln, is the daughter of Arina Shows and John Shows. An honor roll student, she is in senior Beta Club and plays soccer, where she received a leadership award. She’s also earned a science award. She is active at Good Hope Church.
Ellie Christine Slay of Brookhaven, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of Tim and Holly Slay. She is a member of FCA and has been on the All-A honor roll since first grade. She is involved with Mississippi Scholars and was in the Quest program first through eighth grade. She ran varsity cross-country in eighth-grade and is on the BHS cross-country team as a freshman, and helped her team earn second place in the state meet. She is also on the tennis team. Ellie is a member of Faith Presbyterian Church.
Mary Parker Stokes of Brookhaven, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of Eric and Donna Stokes. She has served on junior high student council and yearbook staff and on the junior high and high school choir. An honor roll student, she is was selected as a participant in the All-State honor choir, was a class favorite in sixth grade and danced with Showstoppers Studio of Dance from 2008-2017. She is a member of Central Baptist Church and is active in the youth program. She helps with numerous fundraisers and sings in the children’s and adult choirs. She is a certified babysitter through King’s Daughters Medical Center.
Sara Katherine Teasler of Bogue Chitto, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of David and Brittany Teasler. An honor roll student, she plays soccer and has received the student of the month award. She is active in the Topisaw Baptist Church youth group.
Katelyn Marie Waldrop of Brookhaven, a freshman at Bogue Chitto, is the daughter of James and Susie Waldrop. She is involved with 4-H, the Angus program and the agriculture and has placed first at Dixie Nationals and the state fair. She also plays tennis. She is involved with pre-team discipleship at Wellman Baptist Church.
Lilyann Ruby Warren of Brookhaven, a freshman at Loyd Star High School, is the daughter of Emily Warren and Jason and Lana Warren. An honor roll student, she is involved with FCA and Technology Student Association. She is a cheerleader and has been a competitive dancer at Showstoppers Studio of Dance for 14 years. She is involved with the youth program at Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Wednesday Abigale Warren of Brookhaven, a freshman at Loyd Star High School, is the daughter of Emily Warren and Jason and Lana Warren. An honor roll student, she is involved with FCA and Technology Student Association. She is on the cross-country team and in the band and jazz band. She was chosen as class favorite and was an eighth-grade homecoming maid and Miss Junior High Ole Brook. She is involved with the youth program at Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Mallory Catherine Watts of Brookhaven, a freshman at BA, is the daughter of Jeremy and Dana Watts. She is in the science club and Junior National Honors Society. She is on the A honor roll, and has been involved with Junior Mississippi Scholars and Pathways Gifted Program and Leadership Academy at Mannsdale Elementary. She received the ACT Aspire Excellence Award. She’s been on the basketball team since seventh grade and ran track her seventh-grade year. She is a member of First United Methodist Church and a volunteer at Brookhaven Animal Rescue League.
Merritt Rowland Wolfe of Brookhaven, a freshman at BHS, is the daughter of Nick and Cristi Wolfe. She runs with Ole Brook Cross-country and is in FCA. She has also been in Beta Club. She is on the All-A honor roll and in the National Junior Honor Society. She ran track with Alexander Junior High in the eighth-grade and with Ole Brook Cross-country team since seventh grade. She received the Sounds of Success Choir award in eighth grade. She is a member of First Baptist Church Brookhaven’s Praise Band as a singer, sound/lights tech and keyboard player, the worship choir, the worship media team. She participates with Bible Drills and is a church nursery volunteer. She played an Indian in “Peter Pan” at Brookhaven Little Theatre.
