A close game in the first half went south for Bogue Chitto (2-4) in Harrison County Friday night as the St. Patrick Fighting Irish (5-1) took a 39-7 win over the visiting Bobcats.

Coach Gareth Sartin and his crew only trailed 13-7 at halftime. In the second half a deeper St. Pat team was able to grind out drives and also get some explosive plays against the BC defense.

Turnovers in the center to quarterback exchange also hurt the Bobcats. Like most of their other Lincoln County brethren, the Bobcats are currently battling injuries to some of their key players.

They’ll hope to be closer to full speed next week when they host Amite County (2-4) on Troy Smith Field in the region opener for both teams.
