The Mize Bulldogs (6-0) kept their record perfect Friday night as they overwhelmed Loyd Star (1-5) 41-0 on W.E. “Sambo” Smith Field.

Mize led 34-0 at halftime.

For Loyd Star coach Brian Ford and his young Hornet team, the focus now turns to getting ready for region play next week, which kicks off with the Sting Bowl against Enterprise.

“We’ve got some guys that have been banged up and hurt and it looks like we’ll have almost everyone back and ready for next week,” said Ford.  “We’ll work to get better next week in practice. The goal is to play well next week when we’ll have a big crowd for homecoming. I don’t think we’ll see a better team this season than Mize.”
