Lawrence County opens region play at Raymond Friday night

Coach Jesse Anderson and his Lawrence County Cougars (3-3) will be heavy favorites Friday night when they travel to Hinds County to take on the Raymond Rangers (3-3).
Raymond has wins over Wingfield (0-6), Kemper County (0-5) and Newton High (0-6). Last week the Rangers were beaten 38-26 by Franklin County.
Lawrence County is coming off of a 57-30 homecoming win over Wesson. The matchup with Raymond will be the region opener for both teams.
Last week LC rolled to a season high 631 yards rushing in their win over Wesson. Kylan Cooper rushed for 229 yards and four scores. Antwan Pittman went for 153 yards and two touchdowns, Perez Tyler carried the ball nine times for 105 yards and one touchdown and Tae Cole rushed twice for 73 yards and one score.
The Rangers and Cougars kick off at 7 p.m.
