BA travels to face Hillcrest Christian

Coach Ron Rushing and his Brookhaven Academy Cougars (4-4) head to Siwell Road tonight in south Jackson for a meeting with the Hillcrest Christian School Cougars (1-8).

Hillcrest is under the leadership of first-year head coach Shay Hodge. Hodge is one of the greatest receivers in Ole Miss football history. Hodge took on an Everest-sized challenge when he accepted the head job at HCS.

A 15-0 win over River Oaks Academy on Sept. 20 broke a 28-game losing streak for the Cougars. Hillcrest once had one of the most successful high school baseball programs in the state and the boys’ basketball team has won multiple state championships. The Cougars have rarely been good at football, though. Their last winning season was a 9-4 season in 2005.
