Brookhaven High senior catcher Madi Miller recently signed a letter-of-intent with the Copiah-Lincoln Community College softball program.
As a junior Miller hit .416 and scored 39 runs while batting leadoff. She drove in 17 runs and played catcher for the Lady Panthers while sporting a .978 fielding percentage. She played in the 2019 MAC All-Star game, was a member of the 2019 Daily Leader All-Area team and also was a participant recently in slow-pitch All-Star game. Miller was crowned homecoming queen at BHS this year and is a cheerleader and soccer standout as well.
“Madi works very hard and is a perfectionist in everything she does,” said BHS softball coach Mandy Vinson. “She plays with a lot of grit and hustle and goes all out. She can play any position I put her in.”
Miller signs with a Lady Wolves team that finished 31-17 last season under head coach Meleah Howard. Her future coach echoes much of the same praise as her current coach.
“Madi plays hard and with tremendous passion and love for the game,” said Howard. “She has a high softball IQ and a lot of versatility. We’re thrilled to have her join our pack.”
