The Ole Brook faithful will head east down Hwy. 84 this week, as Ellisville and South Jones High School host the Region 5-5A tournament.

Tuesday night in the semifinals, the Brookhaven High Lady Panthers (23-3) take on the host South Jones Lady Braves (14-12) in a 7 p.m. matchup. The other girls’ semifinal has West Jones (15-8) playing Laurel (13-14).

On Friday, the consolation game will be played at 4 p.m. and the championship tips off at 7 p.m. In 5A, teams must finish in the top three to advance to the state tournament that begins next week. The winner of the region tournament gets a first-round bye.

In boys’ action the Panthers (10-16, 3-3) take on West Jones (10-11, 3-3) Tuesday night in the 8:30 p.m. finale. The other boy’s game has top seed Laurel (16-10, 6-0) playing South Jones (8-17, 0-6).

Friday the boys’ consolation will begin at 5:30 p.m. while the championship game starts at 8:30 p.m.
