Employees of Entergy and Southern Electric Corporation worked in downtown Brookhaven Wednesday, just off West Cherokee Street, to remove an old power pole. The pole serviced only one business — whose line has been rerouted — and "It's an eyesore," an Entergy employee said. Workers used a crane to reach the pole and removed it in small, manageable sections.
